IALP MALTA Congress 2025-33rd World Congress

Η παρουσίαση αφορούσε τα πρώιμα αποτελέσματα της στάθμισης του ερωτηματολογίου PediEAT (Pediatric Eating Assessment Tool, Thoyre S. et al., 2018), καθώς και τις πρώτες ενδείξεις συσχέτισης των Διαταραχών Σίτισης με τη Γλωσσική και Φωνολογική ανάπτυξη των παιδιών με επιλεκτική σίτιση. Καθώς η έρευνα βρίσκεται σε εξέλιξη, το δείγμα είναι ακόμη περιορισμένο και τα ευρήματα πρώιμα.

Η ολοκλήρωση της μελέτης αναμένεται να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην κατανόηση και την κλινική διαχείριση των Διαταραχών Σίτισης σε συνάρτηση με την Γλωσσική και Φωνολογική εξέλιξη στην παιδική ηλικία.

From 24 to 28 August 2025, the 33rd Congress of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics (IALP) was held in Malta that I had the pleasure and honor to serve as chair of Dysphagia session and present my ongoing PhD thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Smaragdi Fessatou, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, NKUA; Pediatrician–Pediatric Gastroenterologist; Head of the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Unit, 3rd Department of Pediatrics, NKUA, “Attikon” University Hospital.

My presentation reported preliminary results from the standardization/validation of the PediEAT (Pediatric Eating Assessment Tool, Thoyre S. et al., 2018) and the first indications of a possible association between Pediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) and children’s language and phonological development. As the study is ongoing, the sample remains limited and the findings are preliminary.

The study is expected to substantially contribute to the understanding and clinical management of Pediatric Feeding Disorders in relation to language and phonological development in childhood.
